We are a homeschooling
family who have been permanent residents of either Windsor Palms or Windsor Hills since 2001. To the best of our
knowledge, we are the only on-site family that owns & manages our own four vacation homes, providing attention-to-detail
and personal service that no management company can compete. In the process we are instilling our children with
a sense of proper values & priorities in life & in business, showing them how to run a business with quality
& integrity that serves families from all over the world.
Before we moved to Orlando, when our children ages 9, 7, & 3, our family visited
6 or 7 times, trying all variations of lodging options: hotels, condos, timeshares,
etc. For our last trip, we arranged to meet up with friends who had rented a
pool home for their family. The pool was tiny and there was no hot tub and at
the time I remember thinking they were crazy, but that shows how little I knew...
…the
difference in the quality of our vacation was incredible!!!
Our kids exhausted
themselves in the pool & the girls went shopping while the guys sat on the couch watching a football game (and we could
actually watch the kids at the same time). The kids literally asked for
more time away from the theme parks to enjoy ‘their own pool’ so we started going to the parks every other day
and saved a bundle in the process. Our ‘off time’ from the theme
parks was so much more relaxing. In the evening, the Disney-or-pool-exhausted
kids fell asleep so early that my wife & I actually had some time alone able to speak in complete sentences without the
nagging 'to-do' list or other distractions we normally have when we are home. One
evening we babysat for the other couple to give them the ability to spend some time as a couple. Meanwhile, Holly &
I enjoyed an intimate candlelight dinner in screened-in yard by the glow of the pool lights while the kids slept soundly
in their rooms. Inspired, I asked my wife to dance with me on the pool deck. When the other couple returned, they remarked that their restaurant was crowded & noisy
and the evening was not at all romantic, I realized that we had Holly & I had inadvertently made right choice. The whole trip was so much more of a true vacation
that we became believers.
The impact
was so profound…
that
within months, we moved our family to Orlando discovered incredible resorts that even added
amenities to the pool homes & started Romancing the Mouse. We created homes
that were specifically designed to provide that very special vacation experience:
a chance to reconnect as a couple without the concerns of an unknown babysitter in an unfamiliar city while enjoying
a family vacation that the kids think is for them!!!.
